About Rāngai
Capability
is collective.
Rāngai is a flock of capable people, working together to develop, document and share our knowledge.
Our mission
Creating the capability communities need to provide for themselves.
The things a community cannot do without are the things you cannot download: power, food, water, a roof over your head and the skills to look after each other. As AI takes on more of the work, they matter more, not less.
Five
foundations
-
Energy
Solar, storage and monitoring that keep the lights on when the grid does not.
-
Food
Growing, sharing and selling local food, with simple tools that connect growers to the people they feed.
-
Water
Collecting, storing and cleaning water, so a broken pipe is not a crisis.
-
Shelter
Small, strong, affordable homes, and the know-how to build them.
-
Self-sustainability
The skills that tie it all together: making, fixing and relying on each other.
How
we work
Document
We film the work as it happens, so others can learn from it, back it and do it again.
ProductionShare
What we learn goes back to the community and on to the next one, so nobody has to start from scratch.
